Privacy & Cookie Policy

1. Who we are
Daisy Maid (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a domestic cleaning service operating in the United Kingdom. Our website is daisymaid.cleaning. For data protection enquiries, contact us at hello@daisymaid.cleaning.
2. What personal data we collect
When you use our quote chat, we collect:
- Your name and contact details (email address and phone number)
- Your postcode and property details (bedrooms, bathrooms)
- Your cleaning preferences (frequency, hours)
- Your quoted price
We do not collect or store your payment card details ourselves. When you book, card payments are handled securely by our payment provider, Stripe (see section 4).
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Provide you with a cleaning quote and process your booking
- Contact you about your enquiry or booking
- Send booking confirmations and service communications
- Improve our service
Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interests (responding to your quote request) and, where applicable, contract (fulfilling a booking).
4. Third parties we share data with
Cleaners (self-employed) - to arrange and carry out your clean, we share your name, contact details (phone number and email) and address with self-employed cleaners in our network. Because we match you with a suitable available cleaner, your details may be shared with more than one cleaner who is offered or expresses interest in your clean, including cleaners who do not ultimately attend, for example where another cleaner is confirmed or availability changes. Cleaners receive only the information needed to contact you and complete the clean, are required to keep it confidential, and may only use it to provide or arrange the cleaning service. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interests in matching you efficiently with an available cleaner.
Stripe (payments) - when you book, your card payments are processed securely by Stripe, our payment provider. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and are not collected or stored on our own systems. We use Stripe to take the agency fee and to manage any recurring payments. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Hotjar - if you consent to analytics, we use Hotjar to understand how visitors use our site (heatmaps, session recordings). Hotjar processes data in the EU. See Hotjar's Privacy Policy.
Meta (Facebook) Pixel - if you consent to advertising, we use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our Facebook and Instagram ads. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
Google Ads - if you consent to advertising, we use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Cookies
We use strictly necessary local storage and, with your consent, third-party tracking cookies. The table below lists everything we set.
| Name | Storage | Purpose | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
| dm_consent_v2 | localStorage | Stores your consent choices | Strictly necessary |
| _hj*, ajs_* | Cookie | Hotjar - usage analytics and heatmaps | Analytics (opt-in) |
| _fbp, _fbc | Cookie | Meta Pixel - Facebook/Instagram ad measurement | Advertising (opt-in) |
| _gcl_*, _gads | Cookie | Google Ads conversion tracking | Advertising (opt-in) |
We only load analytics and advertising scripts after you have given your consent. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the Cookie settings link in the site footer.
6. How long we keep your data
Enquiry and booking data is retained for up to 3 years for business and legal record purposes, after which it is securely deleted. You can request deletion at any time (see section 8).
7. Data security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to our CRM is restricted to authorised personnel only. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information.
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Object to or restrict processing
- Data portability
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@daisymaid.cleaning. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
9. Calls and call recording
When you ask us for a quote, we use the phone number you give us to contact you about it. We may call, text or message you on WhatsApp.
Some of these calls are handled by an automated voice assistant rather than a person. The assistant will always say that it is automated at the start of the call. Its only job is to check whether you would like to speak to someone, put you through to our team, or arrange a time for us to call you back. It will never ask you for payment or card details.
The assistant holds a normal two way conversation. It is not a recorded message, and we use it in the same way and for the same reason we would pick up the phone ourselves: to follow up the quote you asked us for.
Calls may be recorded and we keep a written transcript. We use these to train our team, check the quality of our service, and settle any question about what was agreed. Recordings and transcripts are kept for 12 months and then deleted. This is shorter than the retention period in section 6, which covers your enquiry and booking details.
Our lawful basis for calling you about your quote, whether a person or the assistant makes the call, and for recording those calls, is legitimate interests. You asked us for a quote and gave us your number so that we could come back to you about it, so the call is one you have asked for rather than one out of the blue, and we need to be able to discuss it with you and to keep an accurate record of what was said. You can object to any of this at any time and we will stop.
To provide the automated assistant we use Retell AI, a company based in the United States. This means your call audio and transcript are transferred outside the UK. We have a data processing agreement with Retell which includes the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, an approved safeguard for that transfer.
If you would rather we did not call you, just tell us, on a call or by email, and we will stop. You do not have to give a reason, and it will not affect your quote or your booking.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
